During my free time at work i will search for design related articles. Doesn’t matter it is a free vector or psd downloadable website or fonts and of course stuffs from other designers posted online. I found this designer Jamie Wieck, an illustrator and a director who writes. I like this visual essay that he wrote and the title is “The 50 Things Every Graphic Design Student Should Know”. I personally thinks that not only student only should know. Every graphic designer should know. The 1st few points already made me inspired and i should keep following these steps not only in working but in my own life as well. His illustration is nice and easy to understand plus you won’t feel bored while u read it. Well done Jamie.

There i don’t think i over dress to work especially on a normal day a lot of people thought designers always wear t-shirt and jeans or they wear sloppy. I think all the designers should wear nicer so that they look more presentable and of course you can sell your work better.

I used to have a friend and we used to be quite close friend due to some personal reason i just cut her off and decided not to be friend with her anymore. Un-follow her twitter, facebook and so on. Recently i heard from my princess about this girl and she made a rumor about my other friend. She told everyone that my friend is broke up with her boyfriend and she had an affair with my another friend. I’m not sure i got this correct or not or maybe there were something more interesting i don’t know and we don’t know. We are not friends anymore and there is no point for you to do stuffs like this unless you are 21 years old. I didn’t do much and didn’t say much and i don’t want to know what is your point for doing this? Does it makes you happy? Does it satisfied you? Or does it makes you stimulant and high like cocaine? Oh ya next time if you want to hurt someone or kill someone makes sure you target and focus on the base. Attack the mother ship instead not the small ones. Seriously i don’t feel like talk about it or talk much about it. Suddenly i feel blog something about this makes me wasting space in my blog. WTF i’ve already wasted 234 bits.

Birthday

My facebook wall profile is flooded with all the birthday wishes since 12am until 11pm. My notification pops up non stop and i receive new email every hour. I haven’t receive this amount of emails in a day before. Wishes greeting from near to far. Some from Australia. Some texted me. Some whats app me. Some twitted me. If you guys reading this. I’m so happy and thanks for the wishes. All the best everyone. Even DIGI sent me a text.

I had a GOOD birthday this year and i have 2 surprise party. You can see the 1st party on my previous post and the 2nd small surprise party is in my office. As soon i came back from the loo i saw one of my colleague push my laptop aside and i thought why is she trespassing my workstation and actually they wanted to put a birthday cake on my table. So we ended up cut the cake on the pantry table.

Melbourne day five

Arrrghh. Finally back to my missing melbourne post. Day 5, Friday. This is the day where the party starts. We woke up in the morning and we headed to Shark Fin House near chinatown for delicious dim dum. I grew up in a small town in Ipoh, Perak and i we were born to taste good food. All the while i had dim sum in Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur and Johor and i thought Ipoh is the best dim sum i ever had. I was wrong. The origin of dim sum is from Hong Kong and i haven’t try auentetic dim sum before. Anyone out there who is dim sum lover should go to Hong Kong or if you are in Melbourne now, you must go to Shark Fin House but make sure you must make a reservation first before you go there to avoid disappointment. If i’m not mistaken the restaurant always full house during weekends.

After our good breakfast we went to Melbourne Central to do a bit of window shopping. After that we stopby HYPE at QV. Haha this is where i bought my Lacoste shoes leather shoe. i love it until now i still love it. I wear it to work to special occasion or even i wear it for casual events.

After that the girls wants to look for their “best friends” Chanel and they bought a few things. I realize the staff in branded stores like Chanel or Luis Vuitton, their service is totally different than the staff in Malaysia. They really show you the sincere smile and explain to you nicely not like Malaysian staff. They just show you the “WANT TO BUY OR NOT? FASTER LARRR!” face.

Later on we went to shop at Burke Street and then me and princess back to QV for dinner.

After that we went back home for a short rest. Yea we went to Seven that night but i heard from my princess Seven is closing down now. This shows how long i never update my blog. After we were ready we hopped into a taxi and off we go to Seven. I clubbed since i was studying in college. I went to Thai Club (wth) and so on. The people who runs the club here is totally different in Melbourne. “You cut the queue you go home” shouts the bouncer. Well if you “buat tak tau” just cut the queue in Zouk KL u still manage to go in but here you have to follow the rules. Dress code also.

DAY SIX SATURDAY

We woke up late because we went to bed late that night and we went to Desert House. Desert House is like Kim Gary or Wong Kok in KL or HK but in a smaller scale as in the size of the shop. If i’m not mistaken there were only 2 branches in Melbourne. Haha small shop but their menu is HUGE. I mean they serve a lot of different dishes. After our delicious brunch we went back to ACMI for the Tim Burton exhibition souvenir. It was the last day in Melbourne for Xiao Chyn and Siao Yenn so they just get the stuff that they really need from Melbourne. So me and my princess went to Big “W” to shop for souvenirs too. Candies, chocolates hahahaha you name it but in a certain amount. After that we headed back home cause it is late.

“aigoo” we had pizza for dinner and this time Roy bought us dinner. The pizza is good and i hope it is still good now because i like their menu. They stick their menu on their fridge hehe.

Look at that and i was scolded for being eating slow.

DAY SEVEN SUNDAY

We woke up quite early because we are going to Queen Victoria Market to buy stuff. We bought gifts, oyster of course and i still can taste the oyster that Roy bought. It is so fresh. I don’t eat oyster or salmon because it is raw but the oyster and salmon that we bought there. Whoa….. fresh. Juicy. *thumbs up*

We went back to put back the stuffs that we bought in the market and we do some last minute shopping. We went to Crown casino for window shopping because i saw i satchel that i like but no more stock already. After that we went to Burke Street for last minute shopping also, to get the stuff that we need which we cannot get it in Malaysia. After we shopped we went back home because we have to prepare the food which we bought earlier because we are having hot pot for dinner.

Aigoo. how i miss the days i was in Melbourne with Roy, Sen, Princess, Xiao Chyn and Siao Yenn. I hope we can go to Melbourne again soon. I really enjoyed and had fun. See you soon Melbourne

Fabulous weekend

Last friday evening after i finish my work, like normal friday evening i gonna fetch my princess after work and have a dinner together. Since my work place is near her house so i walk slowly to my car which is quite near from my work place. I saw a few stray dogs and their puppies are so cute and i decided to stop by and play with them

I called them and they came to me but the rest were camera shy and they just hid under the car. Then i headed to my princess place to pick her up at her house and headed to one of my friend’s place for his sister birthday party. Well i enjoyed the food and the time we spend with.

My mum called Saturday morning and she said she is coming to town with my dad this Sunday. Well i think my house is messy even though i clean my house every weekend so it is not that bad. So i have to clean it before they arrive my place. Even my princess help me a lot well i ask her to rest in my room but she just clean my room.

We already decided to have an early celebration because she is going to Melbourne next month to meet her sister. She already made a reservation on that day and we were on time. When the waiter brought us upstairs and i feel shocked that i saw my friend sitting on the table and i though i wanted to call her but i saw she was sitting next to my other friend and then i got shocked. Actually the rest of my friends were sitting there and actually this is a surprised “early birthday dinner” that they had planned few weeks ago. I felt so surprised and i am speechless and thankful. This is the 1st time my friends and my princess made a surprise birthday party for me.  We had steak and they brought presents for me

I felt shy and awkward when everyone sang birthday song to me and the other customers on the other table cheered and clap hands in the end of the song and i never felt so embarrassed especially the balloon.

After dinner we went to a jazz bar just behind of Jakes and the name of the bar is Mezze. The environment is cozy and the service is good. It is been a while since i’ve drink a lot with my friends and it is a good time to catch up with each other.

Sunday afternoon my parents arrived and me and my brother include his gf brought them to Hakka restaurant which is in the curve. The dishes really suitable for us because we are Hakka.

After we had a great lunch we went shopping in IKEA because he said he seldom come to this town and he bought a lot of stuffs. They went back to Ipoh on Monday morning. Me and my princess had a date. Since i was early so i decided to walk around Bintang Walk.

While we are on our way to Marketplace Pavilion i told her that Big Bang tees are avaliable Uniqlo. Without any 2nd thought she straight away went in and tried it out.

After we had our quick shopping we across the road quickly for our special dinner. The environment is nice and their service is good. They have freshly made pasta so i’ve ordered pasta. I don’t know why the photos that i took is bad. Both of us use the same phone and the quality of the photos are better than mine. I had a wonderful weekend. From good food to surprise party and i guess i am heavier now because i ate a lot since last weekend. I need to stop eating so much. Oh ya here are the presents that i receive from my princess and my friends.

Thanks everyone for the birthday presents i like them so much. Thank you Ashley, Ee Wei, Fuan Kee, Mee Shing for attending for my early birthday celebration and of course both of you my princess and Xiao Chyn thanks for making this happen. This is my 1st surprise party impossible i will forget this especially the balloon wth.

Weekends

The Gods are angry. Do not mess with Zeus cause you do not like it. As usual i spend my weekends cleaning my house or maybe just being motionless at home. I was cleaning my house yesterday and suddenly i felt the sky is getting darker and when i look out the balcony. The whole PJ is covered with thunderstorm clouds. You can google some images if you don’t know what is thunderstorm clouds because i was busing cleaning up. Well i know it will rain soon so i just continue to do my stuff. Suddenly i saw a bright flash like those flash in photo studio outside the balcony. The lightning strike and it made my main fuse in my house tripped. Okayyy i stop cleaning my house cause i have to shut all the windows and doors due to the strong wind.

After the thunderstorm ended i went to find my princess for dinner at Ben’s KLCC to celebrate PJ is safe from the thunderstorm.

The burger is fine but i don’t really like their fries. I forgot to snap the photo of the “dried” asam grilled ray.

Korean Fever

All the while i have no idea who the hell is Big Bang. Until my princess mention it during the previous wonder girls concert that we attended. This south korean boy band were formed Since 2006. As time goes by they do a lot of tv shows, concerts….. Everyone is talking about Big Bang. Shared videos via Facebook, twitter, myspace you name it. Even bloggers blog about it and i am one of them. Recently they just launched a mini album and this is their latest hit song.

Previously i only know 1 or 2 of the members from big bang. Dae Sung & Seungri. I got to know from the Korean reality show, Family Outing. The only entertainment show that i watched when i was in Melbourne last year.

I still haven’t continue my post about my melbourne trip last year. wtf

New environment new beginning

Yes! I have “migrated” to a new working environment and a new office.

I’ve been working in this industry for 5 years and this is my 1st time I’m using MacBook for work. I’m quite surprised that it didn’t overheat at all even I use it for more than 4 hours and it is still cool. Well done!

This company is handling a few big clients. As a staff in 3logymedia we have to know all sorts of online social materials such as Facebook or twitter or any popular social network programs . So we are allow to log in Facebook or twitt or check in foursquare during office hours. Wuhoo.

Before I start work in this company I had a long break to reset my mind and my soul (being lazy and wake up late). Well it is time for improvement and get the creative juice flowing.

I’ve notice mont kiara is a place for mat salehs, Japanese. Korean and other foreigners.(we call the white foreigners mat saleh in Malay language. No offense. Mat is from the word mamat which is similar meaning of dude).

Opposite my office there is a Korean language association. I saw a lot of Korean in and out.

iMac

Princess is nice and she lend her iMac to me as she knows i need a bigger and faster machine to do my artwork and personal stuff. The iMac fits well on my working desk and i can imagine how it look like when i have my own brand new iMac. *drools*

Yes i am an Apple freak and i am an Apple user. I have an broken iPhone(1st generation which is broken), iPhone 3gs and ibook G4. More coming up and yes Apple is 1 of my favorite brand.

iMac is a range of all-in-one Macintosh desktop computers since 1998 and has evolved through five distinct forms. Behold the original and the 1st iMac G3 which comes in different colors and it looked like a shape of an egg.

I still remember i used to use this during my college days. The mouse is cute cause it is round. Some of my college-mates blast the volume out loud and of course not forgetting the CD got stuck experience. After sometime Apple Inc. launched iMac G4 a.k.a table lamp. The design is awesome and i told my friends it look like the bouncing table lamp from PIXAR.

Here it is the iMac G4 with a sleeker design notable for its slot-loaded optical drive. it moved the design to a hemispherical base containing all the main components and an LCD monitor on a freely moving arm attached to it

Now they have improve a lot and when the technology updates, they come up with iMac G5 and the intel iMac hides all the components immediately behind the display, creating a slim unified design that tilts only up and down on a simple metal base plus it save a lot of space.

Hold on iMac. I’m gonna get you home.

My Review

When the movie starts until the end i have to listen really carefully and try to catch up what he is trying to say because i think he talk too fast. I think Mark Zukerberg really talk in that speed in his real life. I think this is a movie that you have to catch up like you are in a race. Few minutes they were telling you what is going on here and all of the sudden the scene skipped to the future where Mark is undergoing discussion with the opponent who sues him. Well i can still see David Fincher style in this film. Dark. A little bit of mind fucked. Twist your mind around and lead you somewhere but not so much.

Fun. Entertaining. As usual Jack Black did his moves and action. His personal style. The effects are amazing played along with the latest gadgets. I like that part where 1 of the Lilliput soldiers slide to unlock the iPhone.
